CAREER TRAINING

The training courses approved by the Society provide the opportunity to study hypnotherapy at the highest standards for three main categories of student

  • for individuals who wish to pursue a professional career in hypnotherapy
  • for those who wish to add hypnotism to their current practice, for example, psychotherapy, counselling, medicine, etc
  • for individuals with other purposes in mind, for example, personal interest in this most fascinating and useful art, for self-understanding, self-development and other personal goals.

Hypnosis is an invaluable key to self-exploration and self-direction and the training course is designed to communicate these skills to students. The student will learn to programme his or her subconscious mind powerfully for personal goals – an essential part of the personal and professional development of the successful hypnotherapist.
The key to a successful career in hypnotherapy is highly satisfied clients who recommend their therapist to other individuals. Effectiveness as a practitioner of hypnotherapy depends very largely on the training an individual undertakes. Research indicates that low-functioning trainers produce low-functioning graduates, therefore it is extremely important for prospective students to be fully knowledgeable about the abilities and experience of the main instructor(s), before committing themselves to a particular course. Superficial and brief trainings, and courses “padded out” with non-hypnotherapy material will not teach the student to be effective as a practitioner.

An effective hypnotherapy training course includes the following as necessary elements:

live demonstrations with students
supervised practice sessions with guidance from expert practitioners
use of recorded video case material demonstrating powerful therapeutic results covering a wide variety of clinical issues with in-depth commentary and explanations
experienced teaching staff with demonstrable success as hypnotherapy practitioners over a long period of time – the best teachers will typically have ten years or more of highly successful practice with large numbers of clients before teaching students the advanced art of hypnotherapy. This depth and breadth of clinical experience are required for the development of an effective hypnotherapy teacher.
