Students who complete a training course approved by the Society and satisfy assessment requirements will be awarded certification by that institute and diplomate status of the Society. This entitles diploma holders to use the letters CHT and MBSH after their names and to use these qualifications in their promotional material.

Students achieving the award of the Certificate will also be entitled to membership of the prestigious International Council of Hypnotist Examiners, which is affiliated to the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, one of the largest professional hypnotherapy organisations in the field with standards among the highest in the world. Graduates of the training programme will also achieve certification by the ACHE and will be eligible to use the letters CHT after their names.

The Institute is also affiliated to the Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine (ICNM), an organisation which has worked for more than 20 years to protect and promote the interests of complementary practitioners. The ICNM oversees the British Register of Complementary Practitioners and certificate holders from the Society can apply for membership of the Hypnotherapy section of this register.
